Rosemary Cecilia Williams cannot remember how and when she got herself into the hellish situation she did with her abusive boyfriend Felix. A total drugged out loser who gets his kicks from beating her to a pulp, she finds herself at rock bottom where she wishes for a new beginning somewhere else.
Her wish appears to be answered as upon waking, she finds herself in a dungeon of a medieval castle. Unfortunately she lives through another trauma before finding herself again, but once again, things do not seem to be the same. Drawn to the sexy soldier Geoff, she feels her heart and body yearning for him in spite of her horrible past. At the same time, she seems to be the attraction of the mythological spirit world. Slowly but surely she becomes accustomed to this new existence and although she discovers that her dear brother was the original explorer of time travel, she does not desire to return to her world. Even though disaster strikes and she loses the love of her life, she begins to realize that life and love can continue even through hardship.
I found this book to be quite entertaining with the continual action and suspenseful drama. I was particularly impressed with Ms. Lunaris’s skill at character development; one could genuinely feel for both Rosemary and Mathieu as they confront difficulties. The love scenes were also quite expressive and showed the sensitive yet passionate relationships of the story. Definitely the perfect read when you are looking for an entertaining and pleasurable escape from the daily grind.
