More often than not, when reviewing cookbooks, I flip through the pages and see three or four recipes that I know my family will enjoy and two or three more experiments that they’d be willing to try. I usually get two or three recipes that become ingrained into our regular family meals.
Cucina Piemontese was a bit of a deviation from this normal routine. As I looked through this cookbook, I found over a dozen recipes that I knew that I’d try to cook. So far all of the meals and deserts I have prepared seem destined to become regulars on my dinner table. I still have a few more dishes and a couple of desserts that I can’t wait to make.
The easy to do instructions make these gourmet looking (and tasting) dishes to prepare. Moreover, I had all but a few of the ingredients right in my kitchen which is extremely rare with most good cookbooks. With a couple of the recipes, I also tried some substitutions and my own variations which turned out really well. I really like that these recipes fit me and my schedule rather than me having to take special time out of my life to create a great meal that everyone would enjoy.
