Classified by the publisher as a contemporary yaoi novel, a genre of manga, anime, writing and artwork that originated in Japan which focuses on the romantic and sexual relationships of beautiful men, Lord and Master may borrow some traditions from this genre, but also rises above them to create fully unique characters. There are many interesting dynamics going on in the story, from the twenty year age gap between Mark and Steven, to the roles of superior and underling, and all written in a sensual hand that makes these elements very erotic. As the affair carries on, the reader easily connects with Mark in wondering where the relationship is heading and if it will move out of the office, and just as these questions begin to surface, the answers come about with a very satisfying result. With the endearing couple of Mark and Steven, Lord and Master is a must read for anyone who enjoys a heartwarming romance filled with intense passion.
