Review by Kathy Erwood

“You’re gonna have to trust me.” Trust a Cowboy, Never!

Lynde Lakes is an exceptional writer with details down to every little fragment of skin that might forever show. The imagery she used kept me reading until I realized that I was finished, but wanted more. To be at the Ryan’s ranch with Molly in-tow of Matt and her beautiful young daughter, Sara Jane would be a total grand stand for flies on the wall. This mystery romance is a need for those readers who love to be sitting on the edge of their seats, but at the same time making love to a book.

Molly, recovering from amnesia and a nervous breakdown, feels as tho something is not right. A Stetson-wearing hunk who claims to be her husband, keeps Molly at bay. No one on the ranch speaks to her; there are no phones and Molly wonders what it is that makes her not trust this cowboy. That must be the reason why, he’s a cowboy. A cowboy!!

After sneaking around and finding a phone number, Molly goes out to the barn and finds a phone in the office. “Whose number is this?” she ponders, wondering if she’ll recognize the voice on the other end. Could they help her or will it cause her more damage? She calls the number only to realize that she doesn’t recognize his voice but he does know hers. What will happen now? Will the cowboy be upset that she called someone or will the voice show up and cause her trouble?

Little does Molly know that her life has been in turmoil and this is just the beginning! The so called cowboy has let secrets out. Does his lie bring an end to their hostile, but yet sexually heated marriage? They crave each other, yet at the same time Molly doesn’t really know who this character Matt really is and that throws her concentration off. All too soon, Molly puts her memories back in order and finds out that she was a journalist, hot on a mobster tale when things began to get sticky. The mobster wants Molly gone due to the fact that she is the one and only one that can put him behind bars. Now the mobster has other plans in tact for Molly and Sara Jane. As soon as he can get a hold of Sara Jane he will sale her in the underground black market and be rid of both of them forever.
