Four individuals are mysteriously drawn together. Despite working as an anthropologist, Dr. Michael Greystone has all but ignored his Native heritage. A reoccurring dream, a dead colleague, and a new position bring him to the University of Colorado. His new boss, Dr. Theodore Weatherbee has been sent a strange papyrus written in what seems to be Egyptian hieroglyphs, American Indian petroglyphs, and symbols of unknown origin. Some of the symbols are reminiscent of those in Dr. Greystone’s dreams.
Karen Kendall is readying for her first year at college. She has plans of getting out from under her family but her parents have other plans for her. They’ve arranged for her to live with her uncle, Dr. Theodore Weatherbee, while attending the University of Colorado.
Karen’s first friend at university is Emmy (actually M.E. for Mourning Elk). Emmy has always known that her life was meant for something special. Once every few generations, an individual in her Native community is born with blue eyes. The last one, before Emmy, went insane.
The Seventh Mesa is an engaging story that kept me rooted to my seat.
