Hafwyen (Wyen) of the Flowers, heir of the royal throne of Yadderwal, has always dreamed of finding her soul mate, literally. Wyen regularly travels in the Dream World where she connects with her true love. Though the feelings between the two are strong, the young couple has never actually met in real life. In fact, Wyen doesn’t even know the real name of her true love.
Sure that she has all the time in the world, Wyen continues to live content in her happy dream world until her parents are poisoned. As if Wyen doesn’t have enough trouble to deal with, she must now find her soul mate before her parents die as an ancient prophecy states that at all times one member of the royal house must be bound to their soul mate or the world as they know it will cease to exist. This time is known as The Fall.
Sudden Fall is an entertaining fantasy tale with a romantic foundation and a few very intriguing twists. Though the story is quite short, the plot is quite solid and the characters have a good deal of potential. I see that the author has created a second book in this series, so I am interested to see where the author takes these characters in the next book.
