True happiness is a rare commodity. We all have situations or events that cause us to be happy. However, most of us believe that no one can be truly happy all of the time. We just can fathom how someone could be genuinely happy when bad things happen to them.
Complete Forgiveness: The Four Steps to Happiness with your Spouse, your Ex, Co-workers, Family, Friends… and Yourself! states that key to real happiness is forgiveness. It seems there is a deeply rooted interaction between judgement and happiness. When we have something we perceive as bad happening to us, we become a victim of that action. Though it is important that we take responsibility for our actions, it is equally important that we get past these actions to forgiveness of ourselves and those that have wronged us.
The methodology laid out in this book is quite simplistic. However, the actual practice of these four steps is much more difficult. Like the author states, forgiveness needs to move beyond words and into the action of real life.
