Raging Silence tells the story of a family as they struggle with inevitable changes that come with divorce, growing up, and life in general. The book visits the family during five periods stretching from the break up of the family through the children starting their own families. The author labels these periods as acts.
The characters in this story are rather condescending, overly dramatic, and rather difficult to connect with on any personal level. This aspect is further marred by extensive use of dialogue without any sort of narrative to help the reader find some sort of bond or reason to care about the lives of these people. So while I appreciate the style of work that the author was trying to present, I didn’t think it suited this particular story.
