Pilar Duran has been betrothed since birth to Rafael Ortega. Sent away for a few years, she has now
returned home hopelessly resigned to this upcoming reunion. Remembering how Rafael used to torment her as a playmate and pick fights with all the boys who even talked to her, she is not very keen to see him again. This reluctance immediately slips away from the first moment she lays her eyes on the now gorgeous Rafael. He cannot believe that the little slip of the girl he used to play is now a full figured and stunning beauty. Their attraction does not go without notice as both of their bodies react to the flames of desire. Between this passionate attraction to Rafael and the rumor that a thief is on the loose who is stealing from the local ranchos, Pilar can only assume that things have gotten much more interesting since she left.
This is a very short yet satisfying read. Ms. Willows weaves a great deal of sensual detail into the
interaction between Pilar and Rafael. The added historical context brought a certain perspective and
depth to the story. The character development and pace was wonderful; one could not help but get caught up in the drama. Overall this book was a great read and something I would recommend to anyone looking for an entertaining book.
